The beginning of September saw the arrival of one of Londons eagerly anticipated music festivals. Now in it’s fifth year, the 1234 music festival has become a must have event in the calendar of shoreditch’s indie loving music crowd. With three sound stages, a fairground and dance tent, shoreditch park was completely transformed. Those that were lucky enough to be granted access to the artist area would have had the chance to hang out in the “Underground” tent. Decked out with sofas and mini bar, anyone brave enough to roll the dice had the chance to win shots and pairs of shoes.
This years headliner act were punk legends the “Buzzcocks” , having played with Sex Pistols, Subway Sect, Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Clash, there was no shortage of fans. With an estimated crowd of 13,000, 1234 has definitely grown from strength to strength and is the only real London festival that showcases emerging and established talent. Roll on 2013 and lets see what surprises next year’s event musters.
