Not referring to our magazine or to the clothing made from, but rather clothing made by Velour. The Swedish brand has been operating from it’s current headquarters in Gothenburg since 1997, when founder Per Andersson opened the shop Nostalgi: using the same premises that his Grandmother’s clothing store had operated from for the past fifty years. Nostalgi began by selling the leftover ready-to-wear stock and also limited redesigned pieces and in 2005, inspired by their creative customers, the small team launched their debut collection of original designs.
Basing the aesthetic around traditional and contemporary elements of Gothenburg’s creative industries has led to the brands feel good preppy look; a term they’ve coined to describe their designs. With simple and understated clothes for both men and women, Velour provides a variety of shirts, tee’s, chinos and knitwear that will look good in wardrobes from Stockholm to Shoreditch.
